The Uttara Kannada District Licensed Surveyors Association was established under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 to unite all government-licensed land surveyors across Uttara Kannada district. Our mission spans professional welfare, government representation, civic engagement, and community development — working to ensure that licensed surveyors receive the recognition, support, and fair working conditions they deserve.
With our head office at Sahana Palace, Ankola, and jurisdiction extending across all 12 taluks from Karwar on the coast to Joida in the hills, UKDLSA serves licensed surveyors who are vital to Karnataka's land administration — measuring boundaries, preparing survey sketches, settling land disputes, and maintaining the accuracy of government land records.

UKDLSA serves licensed surveyors in every taluk of Uttara Kannada district — from the Arabian Sea coast to the Western Ghats interior.
Ankola (headquarters), Karwar (district headquarters), Kumta, Honavar, and Bhatkal — five coastal taluks along the Konkan shoreline. Licensed surveyors here handle coastal land records, port-adjacent surveys, and fisheries village demarcation in addition to standard agricultural land work.
Sirsi, Siddapur, Yellapur, Mundgod, Haliyal, Joida, and Khanapur — seven interior taluks covering the Western Ghats and Deccan fringe. Surveyors in these taluks frequently work with forest-adjacent lands, coffee and arecanut plantation surveys, and tribal land records under government forest interface zones.
Government-licensed surveyors (ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಭೂಮಾಪಕರ) in Karnataka are licensed professionals authorised to measure land, demarcate boundaries, prepare survey sketches (ಸರ್ವೆ ನಕ್ಷೆ), and assist in the resolution of land boundary disputes. Their work feeds directly into government land records including RTCs (Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops) and mutation entries maintained by the revenue department.
The association's annual period runs from 1 April to 31 March each year, in line with the Karnataka government's financial year. The UKDLSA office at Sahana Palace, Ankola is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all days. Members are encouraged to visit for assistance with government schemes, petitions, or association matters.
UKDLSA is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 and Rules 1961. The association is governed democratically: elections to all committee positions are held every three years at the Annual General Meeting by secret ballot or show of hands. No new members may be enrolled within three months before an election; candidates must have been members for at least one year.
